Shurooq’s 11th Eiman Oasis Concludes with Final Seminar on ‘Nurturing one’s Spirit’

Eiman Oasis, an inspirational series of Ramadan seminars organised by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), concluded on Saturday June 18, with its final lecture on ‘Nurturing one’s Spirit.’ The ultimate activity in the series wrapped up the Eiman Oasis programme for 2016, with its various seminars and presentations gathering a large number of devout worshippers and residents to honour the spirit of the holy month.

“Each year, Shurooq organises Eiman Oasis as part of its corporate strategy and communal responsibility to deliver positivity, interconnectivity and a tranquil environment for all residents in Sharjah. Ramadan is a month for worship, for enhanced spirituality and for peaceful state-of-mind, so we take this opportunity to host Eiman Oasis, which extends religious channels that are close to residents’ neighbourhoods and which promote Islam through unique and engaging content,” said Ahmad Obaid Al Qaseer, COO of Shurooq.

With the event now in its 11th year, the religious seminars in the 2016 Eiman Oasis programme took place at three mosques in Sharjah; Ahmad Bin Hanbal mosque in the city of Sharjah, Omar Bin Al Khattab mosque in Khor Fakkan and Al Huda mosque in Kalba. The activities drew in attendees from across the emirate and from beyond Sharjah’s borders keen to gain spiritual guidance and advice at this most important time of year.

Completing the 11th edition of Eiman Oasis at Ahmad Bin Hanbal mosque, Sheikh Hamad Al Atique gave a lecture that focused on the importance of clearing one’s soul from all that is negative or stressful in order to maintain a clear state-of-mind. On the same night, Sheikh Daham Al Fadli presented two seminars at Omar Bin Al Khattab; the first highlighting the elements that can lead to someone breaking someone’s fast during the day and how to avoid them and the second presenting key solutions and religious methods in solving modern-day marital disputes.

This year’s edition of Eiman Oasis hosted 12 eminent scholars renowned in their field for educating the community, with the 19 seminars they delivered being infused with with traditional Islamic content and offering solutions to modern-day issues. The array of talks also inculcated in attendees the importance of creating a peaceful and spiritual environment for themselves and for their communities, with this being one of the fundamental pillars for worship in Islam.

“The nature of Islam can be told through thousands of stories and anecdotes and the aim of presenting these in relation to modern issues is to ensure that attendees walk out having had a new learning experience and with a positive and peaceful state-of-mind. We were delighted with this year’s Eiman Oasis topics and with the programme attendance - we are already looking forward to providing inspiration for Ramadan in 2017,” added Al Qaseer.

“I would like to thank every one of the scholars for their time and for their selection of the most relevant and engaging topics that attracted devotees from across Sharjah. They were responsible for making Eiman Oasis a truly unique and entertaining platform for Sharjah residents during the holy month. I especially thank them for their commitment to answering questions from attendees as part of their mission to ensure positive and influential education on various topics on Islam,” he concluded.
