Celebrating the true essence of the Holy month of Ramadan, the hotel hosted around 75 persons for an Iftar feast on the 27th of June 2016 in the Al Mamzar Community Centre for the Elderly. The hotel management team headed by Mr. Ulrich Hoffmeister with the support of the centre headed by Dr. Salwa Alsuwaidi, joined to arrange for a sumptuous Iftar Buffet for all inhabitants of the centre 

 

Al Mamzar Community Centre for the Elderly is the only centre in Dubai taking care of senior citizens who do not have any family for support. There are around 60 patients at the centre and the most common cases are patients with Parkinson's disease, stroke, dementia and osteoporosis. The government of Dubai provides them their necessity from food, clothing, shelter, hospitalization, medicine etc…

Commenting on the event, Mr. Ulrich Hoffmeister, General Manager of Jumeira Rotana, stated, “It’s the time of the year where everyone focuses towards charity, forgiving and praying. That being said, we are delighted to share the spirit of giving and to underline our eagerness to reach out and touch the lives of those who are in need of compassion and love during Ramadan”.

 

For the past years, Jumeira Rotana has been active with several community services and support of non-government organizations. The hotel’s initiative confirmed the commitment to its core values of respect and integrity demonstrated by the desire of “giving back” to the community.

 

The event was concluded with overwhelming words from the centre thanking the hotel management for the support and choosing them to celebrate Iftar. They have truly enjoyed the event.
