The Selangor State Government of Malaysia through Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor), its investment and promotions corporation, organized Round Table Meeting to present burgeoning opportunities in the investment within the Malaysian state. 

 

The event was jointly organized by the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Dubai and CEO Clubs Networks, UAE, to network and forge partnerships with interested individuals and potential companies interested to partake in business opportunities in Malaysia.  

 

 

The Honourable Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Senior Executive Councilor of Selangor State, presented a detailed insight into business and investment offerings offered by the Selangor state, acknowledged as the main air and sea gateway to the South East Asian country of Malaysia. 

 

Home to one of Malaysia’s major life sciences’ and Halal Industry clusters, the metropolitan state of Selangor has the most dynamic socio–economic environment amongst the 14 states that make up the country. Selangor contributes around 22.4 per cent to the national GDP,  and has an urbanization level of 91.4 per cent. 

 

As the biotechnology and halal sector gains momentum to become a choice component of Malaysia’s future growth engine, Selangor is preparing itself early to participate and contribute in this burgeoning sector.  

 

Moving forward, Selangor is working aggressively to further strengthen this particular biotechnology and halal sector through international partnerships.  Acknowledged as the most progressive state in the country, Selangor welcomes foreign corporations to set up friendly businesses run by a multicultural and multilingual workforce.    

 

 

Mr. Hasan Azhari Idris, the Chief Executive Officer of Invest Selangor explained his company’s role in helping interested parties in business match-making and sorting out various procedures once they have confirmed selecting Selangor as their Malaysian base.  The Director of Halal International Selangor, Central Spectrum Sdn. Bhd, Mr. Ahmad Inzuddin Mohd Hashim, presented on the ‘Selangor Bio Bay’ initiative as well as the Halal International Selangor initiatives.  

 

Participants were presented with detailed insights into the current landscape of Selangor’s biotechnology and halal sector as well as future growth initiatives, including the development of a dedicated biotechnology and halal hub, called the ‘Selangor Bio Bay’ and ‘Selangor Halal Hub’.  Participants were invited to share their views on how Selangor can lend a role to either forge further international partnerships or expand business to other parts of the ASEAN region or even Asia.  

 

The Selangor State Investment Mission is on a dedicated business trip to the Dubai, UAE visiting potential companies over a four days working period and led by The Honourable Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, the Senior Executive Councilor of Selangor State. 

 

Come October 20-22, 2016, Selangor will stage its largest trade event, the Selangor International Expo 2016, at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre, Seri Kembangan, Selangor, Malaysia.
